MunchMob

A local food delivery platform built to keep money in the community — independent kitchens, drivers who keep the full delivery fee, and 2% of every order to local causes

The Challenge

MunchMob set out to launch a food delivery platform in Felixstowe, Suffolk that competes with the national players without copying them. It needed to win three audiences at once: independent restaurants facing steep app commissions, drivers shut out of fair pay, and locals who want their takeaway money to stay in the community — all ahead of a hard 1st December launch date.

The Solution

We built a complete consumer platform: a browse-and-order experience across 13 cuisine categories, rich restaurant profiles, and dedicated cause pages that make the 2% Local Giveback visible on every visit. A venue onboarding flow signed up kitchens before launch, and a launch-list campaign with a Golden Ticket giveaway captured early app downloads.

Consumer Ordering Platform

Browse by category or location, check ratings, delivery times and fees, and order from independent Suffolk kitchens — never chains.

2% Local Giveback

Every restaurant on the platform donates 2% of each order to an approved local cause of its choice, with public cause pages showing live totals raised.

Driver-First Pricing

One flat £3.99 delivery fee on every order, passed through in full to the driver — an honest, simple message front and centre of the site.

Pre-Launch Campaign

An app download and launch-list flow with a Golden Ticket giveaway, onboarding venues and building an audience before ordering went live.

Built to Grow Beyond One Town

MunchMob launched in Felixstowe, but the platform was designed to scale town by town. The structure that works for Suffolk — category browsing, restaurant profiles, cause pages, and a flat delivery fee — is the same structure that will onboard the next town's kitchens without a rebuild.

The 2% Local Giveback is baked into the model rather than bolted on: causes are chosen by the restaurants themselves, and the platform keeps that story visible to customers. It is a positioning that the national delivery apps cannot copy, and the whole digital experience is built around it.
